Shipping to 30+ countries
International shipping of snowboards. Shipping to third countries. Oversized packages. Automation.
Amplid is a German manufacturer and online retailer with over 700 shipments to third countries per season.
Amplid was founded in 2005 by multiple snowboard world champion Peter Bauer. After a successful professional career and almost 20 years in marketing and development at market leader Burton Snowboards, it was time for Peter Bauer to channel his wealth of experience into his own company and launch the Amplid brand.
Since its founding, the company has experienced steady growth and enjoys an excellent worldwide reputation as a manufacturer of high-quality and innovative snowboard hardware. Amplid Snowboards serve the premium market segment and are distinguished by both their patented technology and outstanding design, which is regularly confirmed by independent awards and accolades. The product range includes both standard snowboard models and splitboards, which allow snowboarders to explore off-piste terrain.
Initial situation
Amplid used a limited local solution where shipping data was transferred to UPS via CSV. Shipping labels (AWBs) were printed automatically, but these frequently contained errors. Maintaining their own ERP system, which lacked an API to shipping providers, and managing numerous individual shipping interfaces was also extremely time-consuming. Furthermore, automated processing of multi-package shipments was not possible.

How did you come up with the idea of worldwide shipping?
Jenny (Head of Organizational Workflows, Processes, and ERP; Amplid): We were searching online for a partner with a platform solution that could process CSV files, so we wouldn't have to manage the individual shipping interfaces anymore. Since our current ERP system doesn't offer direct API interfaces to the shipping providers, a local CSV-based approach is essential for us right now. The discussions with Christian (CTO, worldwide(sending) were very trustworthy from the beginning.
How can worldwide shipping help?
The smooth, automated processing of single and multi-package shipments via our WWV interface, as well as our low shipping rates, were unbeatable arguments for Amplid choosing us.
Christian, CTO, worldwide shipping with on-site analysis:
The status quo was the local processing of exported CSV files. Amplid wanted to automatically access our WWV shipping interface, immediately correct address or shipping data errors, and thus enable direct printing on local printers without requiring employee intervention.
Our flexible and affordable API solution at a glance

The look into the future
Other carriers, DHL Express, FedEx Economy, Connect Plus and Priority, as well as Spring, will be connected.
Import duties (import VAT and customs) can be displayed in the Amplid Checkout, allowing the end customer to decide whether to pay them immediately or later upon import. With immediate payment, weltweitversenden handles the processing and guarantees that no further costs will be incurred during the actual import.
